A Sign concerning the beginning · 26Verses

1Behold, a sign of the trial appointed for its season draweth near unto the homes of the people; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let self-control be found among them.

2And I saw the village beneath a troubled sky, and the trial appointed for its season stood at the gate; but those who remembered reconciliation discerned the hour.

3Hear, O Victoria: the fog shall test the villagers, and the hidden fruit of the beginning shall be made manifest; therefore forsake not remembrance.

4The watchman cried concerning the warehouse keeper, “Let none sleep in greed; for the Last Covenant is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with reconciliation.

5Behold, a sign of the bitter cold draweth near unto the village; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let remembrance be found among them.

6The watchman cried concerning the Last Covenant, “Let none sleep in sloth; for the Last Covenant is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with courage.

7And I saw the diamond mine beneath a troubled sky, and snow stood at the gate; but those who remembered discernment discerned the hour.

8Thus saith the word concerning the lumberyard: if indifference lift up its banner, the doors of the lumberyard shall tremble; yet loyalty shall prepare a remnant.

20Behold, a sign of rebuilding draweth near unto the small shrine; therefore let the farmers keep watch, and let honesty be found among them.

21The watchman cried concerning the beginning, “Let none sleep in mockery; for the trial appointed for its season is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with self-control.

22Behold, a sign of crime draweth near unto the village; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let loyalty be found among them.

23The watchman cried concerning health, “Let none sleep in hypocrisy; for drought is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with remembrance.

24The watchman cried concerning the quarry, “Let none sleep in indifference; for snow is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with courage.

25And I saw the central warehouse beneath a troubled sky, and the trial appointed for its season stood at the gate; but those who remembered discernment discerned the hour.
