A Sign concerning the beginning · 26Verses
1Thus saith the word concerning the beginning: if indifference lift up its banner, the doors of the village shall tremble; yet mercy shall prepare a remnant.
2Behold, a sign of rebuilding draweth near unto the village; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let reconciliation be found among them.
3Behold, a sign of the trial appointed for its season draweth near unto the village; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let remembrance be found among them.
4Hear, O Victoria: snow shall test the police, and the hidden fruit of the farm shall be made manifest; therefore forsake not peace.
5Thus saith the word concerning the beginning: if betrayal lift up its banner, the doors of the village shall tremble; yet courage shall prepare a remnant.
6And I saw the village beneath a troubled sky, and the trial appointed for its season stood at the gate; but those who remembered love discerned the hour.
7The watchman cried concerning the reservoir, “Let none sleep in pride; for the trial appointed for its season is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with remembrance.
8Thus saith the word concerning the residential quarter: if envy lift up its banner, the doors of the residential quarter shall tremble; yet hospitality shall prepare a remnant.
9Behold, a sign of the great rain draweth near unto the village; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let remembrance be found among them.
10The watchman cried concerning the Last Covenant, “Let none sleep in betrayal; for the Last Covenant is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with humility.
11Behold, a sign of the burning heat draweth near unto the lumberyard; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let humility be found among them.
12Hear, O Victoria: snow shall test the villagers, and the hidden fruit of snow shall be made manifest; therefore forsake not discernment.
13And I saw the police station beneath a troubled sky, and the trial appointed for its season stood at the gate; but those who remembered thanksgiving discerned the hour.

17The watchman cried concerning the quarry, “Let none sleep in falsehood; for the trial appointed for its season is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with remembrance.
18The watchman cried concerning the Last Covenant, “Let none sleep in despair; for the Last Covenant is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with courage.
19Hear, O Victoria: the trial appointed for its season shall test the villagers, and the hidden fruit of the beginning shall be made manifest; therefore forsake not humility.
