2The record of light and darkness was written concerning the village: the bitter cold revealed the hearts of the people, and loyalty became their sure defense.
3When the great rain came upon the homes of the people, Nature remembered the deeds of the one who sees spirits; and the small acts of remembrance were counted as great works.
4In the days of the one who sees spirits, the one who sees spirits gathered at the village; and though the trial appointed for its season troubled the village, hope did not depart from those who remembered the covenant.
5In the days of the lumberyard, the villagers gathered at the lumberyard; and though the trial appointed for its season troubled the village, hospitality did not depart from those who remembered the covenant.
