1And it came to pass at the village, when the trial appointed for its season arose, that the villagers were tried; but those who held fast to thanksgiving strengthened one another.

3And the villagers saw that fear divided neighbors more swiftly than want; therefore they chose hope, and the village endured.
4And the police saw that pride divided neighbors more swiftly than want; therefore they chose remembrance, and the village endured.
5When drought came upon the village, Nature remembered the deeds of those who doubt; and the small acts of loyalty were counted as great works.
