1Now Nature said unto the villagers, “Remember light and darkness; let not the trial appointed for its season turn your hearts from courage.” And they kept the saying in their memory.
2Thus was light and darkness established in Victoria: the trial appointed for its season came near unto the village, yet those who walked in remembrance were not forsaken.
3Now Nature said unto the diamond miners, “Remember crime; let not crime turn your hearts from loyalty.” And they kept the saying in their memory.
4Now Nature said unto the villagers, “Remember the lumberyard; let not the trial appointed for its season turn your hearts from self-control.” And they kept the saying in their memory.
5And concerning light and darkness, Nature looked upon the village, and set hope among the people of Victoria, that the covenant might not fail.
6Nature appointed a season for the first four people, and a season for snow; but unto the people was given the choice to keep remembrance.

22In those days the villagers beheld the diamond mine; and Nature taught them that loyalty is greater than abundance, and that despair maketh even a full house poor.
23And concerning the Last Covenant, Nature looked upon the village, and set faithfulness among the people of Victoria, that the covenant might not fail.
