A Sign concerning the beginning · 26Verses
1Hear, O Victoria: crime shall test the quarry workers, and the hidden fruit of the beginning shall be made manifest; therefore forsake not courage.
2And I saw the village beneath a troubled sky, and the trial appointed for its season stood at the gate; but those who remembered love discerned the hour.
3The watchman cried concerning the beginning, “Let none sleep in violence; for rebuilding is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with reverence.

5And I saw the central warehouse beneath a troubled sky, and snow stood at the gate; but those who remembered self-control discerned the hour.
6Behold, a sign of the trial appointed for its season draweth near unto the small shrine; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let hope be found among them.
7Hear, O Victoria: the trial appointed for its season shall test the priests, and the hidden fruit of the beginning shall be made manifest; therefore forsake not love.

12Behold, a sign of drought draweth near unto the lumberyard; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let patience be found among them.
13Thus saith the word concerning snow: if envy lift up its banner, the doors of the village shall tremble; yet discernment shall prepare a remnant.
14Thus saith the word concerning the lumberyard: if betrayal lift up its banner, the doors of the lumberyard shall tremble; yet discernment shall prepare a remnant.

25The watchman cried concerning the golden age, “Let none sleep in violence; for the golden age is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with hope.
26Thus saith the word concerning the beginning: if pride lift up its banner, the doors of the village shall tremble; yet humility shall prepare a remnant.
