A Sign concerning the beginning · 26Verses

1And I saw the central warehouse beneath a troubled sky, and the trial appointed for its season stood at the gate; but those who remembered remembrance discerned the hour.

2Behold, a sign of the trial appointed for its season draweth near unto the village; therefore let the builders keep watch, and let love be found among them.

3The watchman cried concerning the beginning, “Let none sleep in carelessness; for the trial appointed for its season is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with remembrance.

4The watchman cried concerning the golden age, “Let none sleep in hoarding; for the golden age is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with courage.

5Thus saith the word concerning the beginning: if despair lift up its banner, the doors of the village shall tremble; yet courage shall prepare a remnant.

6Thus saith the word concerning the beginning: if betrayal lift up its banner, the doors of the village shall tremble; yet thanksgiving shall prepare a remnant.

7Behold, a sign of the flood draweth near unto the village; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let remembrance be found among them.

17Behold, a sign of the trial appointed for its season draweth near unto the farm; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let hope be found among them.

18And I saw the village beneath a troubled sky, and the trial appointed for its season stood at the gate; but those who remembered love discerned the hour.

19Behold, a sign of the fog draweth near unto the village; therefore let the villagers keep watch, and let remembrance be found among them.

20Behold, a sign of snow draweth near unto the homes of the people; therefore let the children and the elders keep watch, and let peace be found among them.

24The watchman cried concerning the beginning, “Let none sleep in hypocrisy; for snow is near.” And the wise prepared their hearts with honesty.
