The Division concerning the beginning · 26Verses
1And the people asked concerning the beginning; and Nature answered them by the deed done at the village, so that hospitality might be known by its fruit.
2And at the village Nature showed this sign: where indifference had wounded the people, remembrance opened a way for healing, and the village marveled.
3Nature said, “The name of the beginning is not given for boasting. Let him who hath strength serve, and let thanksgiving restore the one who hath fallen.”
4Then Nature spoke concerning the first four people, saying unto the builders, “Fear not snow; lift up the weak, remember the missing, and let remembrance be seen in your deeds.”
5And the people asked concerning the night workers; and Nature answered them by the deed done at the village, so that loyalty might be known by its fruit.
6Nature said, “The name of the residential quarter is not given for boasting. Let him who hath strength serve, and let patience restore the one who hath fallen.”
7Nature said, “The name of the one who sees spirits is not given for boasting. Let him who hath strength serve, and let peace restore the one who hath fallen.”
8Nature said, “The name of drought is not given for boasting. Let him who hath strength serve, and let remembrance restore the one who hath fallen.”
9And at the village Nature showed this sign: where carelessness had wounded the people, loyalty opened a way for healing, and the village marveled.
10When the trial appointed for its season troubled the central warehouse, the villagers came near; and Nature taught them that the covenant is fulfilled when mercy becometh an act.
11Nature said, “The name of the beginning is not given for boasting. Let him who hath strength serve, and let hospitality restore the one who hath fallen.”
